We work in collaboration with the state vocational rehabilitation agency and the school district. These classes are tailored to align with individual student schedules and learning preferences. Typically spanning the entire academic year, our school-based Pre-ETS courses encompass all five essential goal areas, ensuring students acquire the vital skills they need to transition from High School to the next phase of early adulthood.
Pre-ETS Transition Goals
Our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) classes encompass five categories. They address various topics, including fostering positive workplace relationships, excelling in interviews, securing and retaining employment, and advocating for one's future.

Road Trips for Resources
True Independence
Three to four times a year, residents of our community living home and support staff will brave the waters, paddle the lakes, venture to the forest, bowl into the night, compete on the basketball courts, cheer on the Rangers and so much more.
Through our Road Trips for Resources Program, Texarkana Resources for the Disabled, Inc. has proven that part of true independence comes from a sense of venturing into the unknown, accomplishing what you did not think you could do and laughing along the way with your friends by your side. Everyone deserves an opportunity to live life to the fullest and that should not stop because you reside in a Community Living Home.

Community Partnerships
Texarkana Aktion Club
Texarkana Resources for the Disabled, Inc. proudly partners with Kiwanis Club of Texarkana. Like so many of us, the individuals with disabilities we serve love to celebrate the empowerment of their independence by giving back to our community. Kiwanis Volunteers, staff and the members of the Aktion Club of Texarkana Resources for the Disabled, Inc. come together as a club to provide service projects throughout the community. Community Service Projects have included: Preparing and serving chili and the annual homeless coalition chili cook-off, assisting at the local animal shelter, crafting and sending hundreds of cards to local nursing homes, stuffing over 10,000 eggs for the Big Dam Waterpark Community Easter Egg Hunt, busing tables and serving food at the annual Kiwanis Pancake Day and so much more.
The smiling faces and helpful hands that accompany each project go a long way letting those in the community know that individuals with disabilities are helpful and contributing members of our community. A community can only be strong when those who need us most are supported and compassionately connected to the rest of us.
Any person who attends Texarkana Resources for the Disabled, Inc. can join the Texarkana Aktion Club. See flyer with meeting dates, times, and locations!
